This is another project I recreated from the book Supercraft – Kreative Projekte für 52 Wochenenden that I got to review. It came out this week, so it’s available to order. I can only highly recommend it.
This was actually meant to be a scarf but it doesn’t look good on me, so I turned it into a tablecloth. What do you think?
All you need is:
– cotton fabric
– half an apple
– a small leaf
– textil color
– a sponge
– needle
– scissors
– yarn
– a saucer
Put the textil color onto the saucer for easy access. Take the sponge and spread the paint evenly onto the apple. Press it on the cloth and repeat all along the sides. Do the same with the leaf.
Now take the yarn and thread and do a blanket stitch all around the edges. I find this tutorial the best if you don’t know how to do it. I had to refresh my memory as well since it was a long time that I made this iPad sleeve (still in heavy use though!).
And voilá! You have an unique apple printed table cloth.
You can see the keychain I made out of the book or buy it yourself here to get even more inspiration.
Now I’m back flicking through the pages and thinking about what’s next that I can spin off.
Carry on!
