This Matcha ice tea is an invention of my boyfriend. I guess he got inspired by the batch of Elderflower cordial I made last week. When I told him that I would like to put it on the blog, his answer was: Why? It’s not even tricky.
He kind of made my point here but I understand where he’s coming from. So I asked him two questions:
Have you ever seen this recipe anywhere else? No.
Is it really good, I mean delicious? Yes.
There you go. That’s all there is to say about this Matcha ice tea. Well, maybe I could add: it’s actually really healthy too. So. That’s it. You can’t ask more from a summer drink recipe, can you?
Ingredients
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 100 ml hot water
- juice of 1 lime
- 4 cl elderflower cordial
- 500 ml ice cold water
- optional: ice cubes
Instructions
- Put the matcha powder into a bowl and add the boiling hot water. Stir well until the green powder has dissolved completely.
- Pour the lime juice, elderflower cordial and matcha tea into a jug and fill it up with cold water.
- Serve right away with some ice cubes or keep it in the fridge.
If you want to store it in the fridge, make sure to stir it before serving because the Matcha powder will set at the bottom after a while. Even while I took this pictures, I had to stir from time to time.
This makes such a refreshing summer drink and I have to keep myself not to drink too much (or late in the evening) because it will keep you from sleeping.
What’s your favorite summer drink?
