Looking through the images of food I shared here lately, there’s one common theme. And with theme I mean color. And with color I mean only orange. Even my magical one pot pasta recipe is orange. Well it’s the color of fall and that’s the season now. So I’m save carrying on.

And I do carry on with this pumpkin apple chutney recipe. I love chutneys and I love pumpkin, so this was a no-brainer for me.

All you need is:
– 1 kg pumpkin
– 2 sour apples
– 2 cm piece of ginger
– 2 onions
– 3 garlic cloves
– 1 Tbsp cooking oil
– 1 chili
– 250 ml white wine vinegar
– 300 g brown sugar
– 1 heaped tbsp mustard seeds
– 1 tsp salt to season

Cut the onions into pieces and the garlic cloves into slices.  Heat the oil in a pot and add the onions and garlic. Stir for a minute. Cut the pumpkin into 2 cm pieces and the apples into 1/2 cm pieces and put them in the pot. Season with the salt and let it roast for 5 mins. Meanwhile cut the ginger and chili into small pieces add as well. Mix the vinegar with the sugar and add to the pot. Cook for 10 mins until the pumpkin and apple are soft. Put it all in a mixer and blend to get most of the pieces out (a little texture is good but too much makes it hard to spread). Pour it back into the pot and add the mustard seeds and bring to the boil (bubbles should show). Meanwhile wash out mason jars with cooking hot water. Fill the chutney into the glasses and close. If you use jars with screw-on lids, turn them upside down to cool. This will close them air-tight. Voilá!

Last year I got this great stamp set from my mum. It comes with 4 different stamps and a golden stamp cushion. A golden one! Could it be any more perfect?! I saved it way too long! If somebody tells you that it got lost in my decoration stuff and I forgot about it until I accidentally found it again…. Don’t believe them. They are lying (a bit).

They make also a pretty and homemade gift for your friends and family. So it’s good I packed them already this pretty. Christmas can come!

Just kidding. Please not yet. There’s still the big trip to Australia I wanna do before Christmas and I’m not ready for snow and cold yet (good thing, there will be summer in Australia! Endless summer this year for me!). But I get carried away. Make this.
