As I mentioned already: about a month ago I started a new job. It’s certainly more demanding than my former profession and I’m constantly learning (which is also quite demanding and exhausting – but in a good way). It also means that I have to plan better and be more organized when it comes to my blog. To sit down every night and work on it became certainly a challenge. That’s why I don’t do it. A girl needs a break sometimes as well.
However I do love my blog and I couldn’t imagine stopping (even if nobody would be reading). There is this inner urge to craft and bake, take pictures and write about it. Sounds weird? Maybe. But it makes me happy. That somebody reads this and gets inspired is an add-on. I would blog anyway. However with the challenge I face with less time and less energy, I really thought about what’s the future and I just told myself: Don’t worry about it. If you want it, make it happen. And so I wrote it on the wall.

Make-it-happen-sign-doneThis banner hangs now in my bedroom and reminds me every day that I have to work for the things I want. Like my new job. Or this blog. Or my relationships. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like work at all and sometimes I have to overcome myself.

All you need:
– some fabric
– a stick
– some thick thread
– scissors
– sewing stuff (needle and thread or a sewing machine)
– fabric paint
– a brush
– some chalk

Cut a piece out of the fabric that has the shape of the banner you want to create and sew the edges. On the top you need to sew a loop. The wooden stick will go through here and it’s necessary to hang it. (If you look closely at the picture you’ll see that I already drafted the design with the chalk. I just couldn’t wait.)

I started first with the leaves that go around the saying. Don’t you think that everything looks more official when there are leaves wrapped around it? Like awards, Caesar and trees.

The chalk made it easy to draft the words before I wrote them with the fabric paint.

Iron it for 5 mins and now you can even wash it with 40° C! Quite handy.

I hung on the opposite wall of my bed. So every morning when I wake up  I’m reminded that my fate lies in my own two hands. What do you do to motivate yourself?

Now. Carry on!
